In addition to his academic and research roles, Dr. Gerezgiher Buruh Abera is the Head of Organization Pelicans Ethiopia, a local non-governmental organization (NGO).

  • Executive Director/Head: He leads Pelicans Women Empowerment Belt a local NGO based in Mekelle,Tigray,Ethiopia. He is actively involved in community-based health and development initiatives.
  • Associate Professor: He serves as an Associate Professor at Mekelle University within the College of Health Sciences.
  • Researcher: He is a prolific researcher focusing on maternal health, neonatal care, and chronic diseases in Ethiopia.
